If I MUST choose, my fave moment really lasted for hours one evening every week, for months! Our Design Council meetings were labor intensive but super productive and creative.

This city embraces and fosters creativity. It’s a force to be reckoned with because it knows how to harness the go-getter energy of entrepreneurs. It’s so inspiring to be part of that vibe.

Columbus Book Project was a working title and I wasn’t sold on it being the official title. The team and our focus group loved it. It obviously grew on me ;)

Favorite moment of CBP?
We were at Ammie's house for one of our meetings which always included some great meal Alexia ordered in, plus an assortment of wine. It was about six weeks until the launch event -- and that evening was our first time watching the rough draft of the CBP official video produced by SpaceJunk. The video was wonderful. Everyone looked amazing -- and seeing that solidified how hard the team had worked. It was a proud moment.

Seeing everything come together for the launch event at the Columbus Museum of Art was magical. I was amongst friends and family and everyone was enjoying themselves. I really couldn’t ask for much more at that moment.

There were so many but the first time we put up an installation art set to feature who we were. It was a type of organized chaos but when it went up, it just was seeing the book come to life.

Favorite moment of CBP?
I was at HighBall to write the story for its spread (in the book REVEAL; page 182). I was covered in glitter and had to wrestle with my tulle gown to take notes of the adventurous night for the story.
Favorite thing about Columbus ?
How eager folks are to either collaborate or put people in touch with others who may be interested in a project. We help each other thrive.
Something people don't know about you?
In addition to writing, I teach social justice theatre. I believe change happens when we come together, share stories, build empathy, and empower one another; theatre is a powerful tool for liberation.

Favorite moment of CBP?
I’m not sure why, but shooting the “Sweet Treats” shoot at Pistacia Vera was incredibly memorable. We had an amazing team of designers, models, and visual artists. It was such a colorful shoot and the photos are some of my favorite in the entire book —not to mention I got an incredible macaroon after!
Favorite thing about Columbus ?
The inviting midwest feel. I’ve always felt Columbus is an easy place to explore, and I think that's because of the culture developed by its residents. There is a grassroots energy embedded in the city and hidden gems around every corner.
Something people don't know about you?
I grew up in Columbus and no matter where I go I can’t seem to find a place quite like it.

The fact that I think many ppl don’t know how amazing this city is. We’re a hidden gem of the Midwest and we are still growing and evolving. There’s so much culture waiting to be uncovered and discovered and even more creative geniuses on the rise. CBP has been able to culminate just about all we have to offer.

Favorite moment of CBP?
Our first full team meeting. It was held in the main branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library & I was slightly intimidated at first by how many talented people were there. As everyone started to introduce themselves, I felt a lot more comfortable when I realized that they were all similar to me in a lot of ways. Everyone at that table was a creative working on their own in Columbus and trying to make something remarkable together. It felt amazing to be able to be a part of that.
Favorite thing about Columbus ?
How easy is it for a bunch of creative minds to come together and work on something great.
Something people don't know about you?
I’m trying to visit every continent & then every country in the world. On the way I plan to connect with as many creatives as possible. So if you know anyone in another country feel free to contact me & link us up!

The book launch party. All the hard work from every team member came to life at the beautiful venue with all our work on display. I loved seeing my promotional materials being sold at the retail table, and my logo on the sponsors photo wall!

its ability to keep surprising me. New coffee shops, restaurants, and plant shops (my fav) keep popping up all over the place and making the city so much fun to explore.

All of the educational opportunity; I attend school in Ohio at Miami University from out-of-state, and one of the factors that drew me to moving here were all of the great institutions in this state and Columbus is a part of that.
Something people don't know about you?
I am a southerner at heart! I'm from Birmingham, AL and definitely hold on to notes of that culture— having a slight twang, holding the door open and smiling at strangers, and an appreciation for great food.
